The season for celebration is a romantic time to hold your wedding. Though many couples are planning weddings abroad in the sun choosing a wedding day during the Christmas season at home can be equally as romantic and memorable. A vibrant theme of red and green with mulled wines and warming buffets around a log fire will leave a perfect glow to your wedding day memories. Plan your day carefully using some of the ideas below to make your wedding day as perfect as you could wish.
Dressing for the Season
Choose an appropriate theme for the season and reflect this in the styles and colours for your wedding gown, the bridesmaids dresses and decorations. Spice up your white weddings with the following combinations:

Burnt cinnamon, browns or gold
Ivory and deep purple
Silver and midnight blue
Use fabrics such as wool, cotton, velvet and silk

Choosing the Venue  
If you are planning a civil ceremony or seasonal reception try to find a venue that oozes charm and character with cosy corners and blazing log fires but with enough space to accommodate all your guests comfortably indoors and maybe gardens with landscaping that can offer a variety of photographic opportunities outdoors even in winter. An increasing number of private homes, estates, castles and listed buildings are now being licensed for civil ceremonies.
